About IMPAR

The Institute for Multicultural Research and Practice (IMPAR) was founded in the year 2000 as part of the Center for Multicultural Mental Health (CMMH).  Faculty and staff in IMPAR have provided research, consultations, evaluations, presentations and services locally and across the nation.

IMPAR has included work covering a number of content areas such as: culturally competent practices; evaluation of cultural competence in psychiatry residency training programs; human factors research; services research evaluation; disaster behavioral health training and consultation; and, effective models of training.

IMPAR has been a major component of the engine driving the success of CMMH and has enabled the organization to remain on the cutting edge of knowledge, research and service delivery in its field.
